Reunion Parking on Saturday

Parking space at the museum is limited and does not have the capacity to handle the volume of vehicles we expect. The road the museum is located on is narrow, winding and unsafe to park or walk along.

A satellite parking area has been established a short distance away at Living Savior Lutheran Church (5500 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA 22039). The church is conveniently located on the southbound side of Rt. 123 (Ox Road) just north of the intersection with Fairfax Station Road.

A shuttle van will ferry attendees between the satellite parking area and the museum. The shuttle will begin operation at 6:30 PM and run continuously until 11:30 PM.

Please plan to park in the satellite parking area and ride the shuttle van to the reunion.

Wakefield Building Tour
and Happy Hour/Mixer

  • Building tour begins at 4:30 PM. We will meet to begin the tour at the Dinwiddie St. entrance next to the cafeteria.
  • Happy Hour/Mixer immediately following the conclusion of the tour at Clyde's on N. Beauregard St. in the back bar area (Note: Clyde's version of Happy Hour called "Afternoon Delight" runs from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Anyone not wishing to take a building tour can opt to head straight to Clyde's and save us a seat!)
Building tour: Friday, 7/30 beginning at 4:30 PM

Join us Friday before the reunion for a tour of the old building. In case you are unaware, the present facility is scheduled to be replaced beginning in late 2013 or early 2014. This may well be our last opportunity as a class to walk the halls of the Wakefield we remember.

We will meet to begin the tour at the Dinwiddie St. entrance next to the cafeteria at 4:30 PM.

Happy Hour/Mixer, Friday, 7/30 immediately following the building tour

After the building tour, join us at Clyde's at Mark Center for a mixer that will provide a great ice breaker opportunity before the main event on Saturday to visit with classmates you perhaps don't know very well, as well as an additional opportunity to spend time with old friends. The Friday night event has been a very popular part of past reunions.

We have reserved the back bar area at Clyde's. When you enter simply tell the hostess "Wakefield reunion" and you will be directed to us.

So, make plans to get off work early July 30th, or travel into town early if you are arriving from out-of-town, for a nostalgic visit back to our old school followed by an evening at Clyde's.

Hope you will be able to join us. It will be a blast.

(Note: Clyde's version of Happy Hour called "Afternoon Delight" runs from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Anyone not wishing to take a building tour can opt to head straight to Clyde's and save us a seat!)
