Classmates in the news!

(Well, in the Wakefield newspaper, The Chieftain, at least.)

Bruce Hall and Alan Steele returned to the scene of the crime - the halls of Wakefield - January 20, 2006 to be interviewed by Wakefield journalism student, Brenna O'Neill (center) for an upcoming article Brenna is writing for the school newspaper on how life at Wakefield has changed through the decades. Linda Ciccolella Marchman was unable to join us in person, but contributed via email.

(No. We're not drunk. We're just not very photogenic!)

Classmate Goes to War

John Hearn (2nd from left above and facing camera below) served a 1-year tour in Iraq with the Air Force beginning on 9-October-2004. He served his tour providing humanitarian relief efforts, such as an excursion to take much needed materials to an elementary school, and combat sweeps for "improvised explosive devices", aka IED. We read about the tragic results of those things all too often.

Thankfully, John returned home safely to his

family, friends and loved ones.

Our thoughts and prayers go out across the miles to John's  comrades in arms who are still stationed in Iraq to succor them in their time of duty inspired trial and sacrifice. We owe them and service men and women everywhere our undying gratitude for their commitment to defend freedom and make the world a safer place. We pray that God's grace and mercy will return them safely home to their loved ones.

Godspeed to our service men and women around the globe who are defending the ideals that our country stands for and

God Bless America!

(With the help of a few naive classmates.)

50 Year Celebration!

__________________________________________________________

A number of us returned to Wakefield November 7 & 8, 2003

to take part in Wakefield's 50 Year Celebration.

Friday night found us at a pep rally and football game.

On Saturday, the school opened for a variety of activities

including memorabilia displays and self-guided tours.

More than a few of us bored our families

to tears with this one!

Saturday's activities culminated in a Five Decade Dance

at the Holiday Inn - Ballston. Music was provided

by a variety of alumni musicians including

The New Found Sound and The Boston Monkeys.

R & B classics from our era were the order of the evening.

It was like being transported back in time

to the infamous "church dances."

All-in-all, it was truly a memorable weekend.
