35 Year Reunion

35 Year Reunion

Saturday, October 22, 2005

Hyatt Regency Crystal City

Tidewater Room

2799 Jeff Davis Hwy

Arlington, Virginia

What a great time !

Another class reunion has come and gone. Time now for reflecting on the conversation and reconnection that took place at the Hyatt. Based on comments we received, it seems that many classmates in attendance felt that this was the best reunion yet.

Reunion comments

Here are some of the comments we received during the course of the evening:

  • "Everyone seems friendlier and easier to talk to than at past reunions."
  • "The old cliques and social groups seem to have disappeared."
  • "I don't know why I've never attended our reunions before. This was such a wonderful experience. I don't plan to miss any reunions in the future."
  • "We have to spread the word to more of our classmates who don't normally attend our reunions. They don't know what they are missing."
  • "I wasn't planning to come, but changed my mind at the last minute. I am so glad that I did. I realize now that I wouldn't have wanted to miss this for the world."

Thank you Class of 1970!

Many thanks to those classmates that made the effort to join us for this reunion. Thanks also to those classmates who couldn't come but who joined us in spirit. You made this event the success that it was through your warmth, kindness and generous spirits.

The success of the reunion cannot be measured by the head count of those in attendance, but rather by the richness of the relationships that were reforged and in some cases begun that evening.

Through these reunions, we have learned a valuable life lesson. The unfairness and unkindness that often taints our memories of the high school experience has been erased by the one thing that we all have in common: life. We have discovered that if we are allowed to live long enough, life has a way of leveling the playing field - and that is a good thing.
